Oligocene Period
Much older than the average mammal/reptile fossil from this area - this piece comes from the Suwannee River which allows it to be dated to the Oligocene period.
Very few sites in Florida offer mammal/reptile fossils of such age and most, especially ones with no location provenance, can be as young as 8,500 years old.
ALL our few remaining Florida odds and ends are quality, stablised (vital for water finds) fossils.
