Dearest Edward
Golly cutie I've been a real baddy on the mail situation lately I feel terribly about it....There was so much to do and as I was expecting Sally at 5 PM I just about got finished when she came she's right next to me now writing to you now I guess we'll be telling you the same stuff......Then she I went to the opening night of the picture "Salute to the Marines" with Wallace Berry. It opened yesterday at the gobe we got there about 8:40 had to stand about 20 minutes......We were really all out for the Marines when we went to the picture. She had her bracelet earring the emblem you sent her I had my earring, your silver pin new bar.....you should have heard us while we were waiting in the lobby surrounded by girls, sailors, girls, soldiers, girls, Marines and girls. Every Marine term we knew we used spoke of all the Marine bases as tho we knew them inside out! What fun. Incidentally the theatre was jammed with sailors more Marines than I've ever seen in New York at one time. Ah bliss!.....Apple
envelope is postmarked Jul 3 43
Dearie Nedwood
Don't know whether it's the weather or lack of corpuscles but I have a face ache again....Today was blue ribbon day for me as the Marines are concerned. Heard from A #1 Nedwood, A#2 Paul A# 4 Doc.....Was excpetionally busy today for a change drastic changes are being made in our business by the government I don't know yet just what will happen. But never fear about me I can always get a defense job.....Apple

Dearest Ed
Golly here I thought I'd sit down to this early in comfort but it is 9:30 I'm in my room on my bed....I'm tickled silly about your possible promotion in May! I only hope it comes thru! C'mon baby make with the silver bars so Apsy can have the gold ones!.......Apsey
March 6-43
Dearest Edward
Here I am in your Inner Sanctum Sanctorium on this a Saturday of all Saturdays......I'm so sorry honey bun that Camp Davis is a complete fizzle as far as you're concerned but that's the Army and you can T.G. that you're a Marine. And a good Marine too I wouldn't have you in any other branch of the Service. They can put you in a recruiting office and say I wouldn't have married you if you were a soldier. (That's a lie, Apple and you know it. You'd have married the guy any way!) Now it is safe for me to tell all because by now you'll have gotten the picture you've been nagging for.......June
March 17-43
Dearest lovey
The poor Irish! They just never ever get a nice day for their parades. It rained or drizzled all day.......I'm so glad you had such a wonderful weekend. Oh Edward how dull your life would be if you were in the Army! Be thankful over over again that you're a Marine....All my love (signature)
Overall the letters are in very good condition.
