This broadsheet is from a delightful collection of original 19th century broadsheets/prints I just acquired, all of which are hand colored and measure about 15x11.5 inches. Printed in France in the late 1800's, they are all originals, not reproductions, and all illustrate childrens' stories, nursery rhymes and songs of the day. Each one is quite scarce; some are charming, and some are downright horrifying! It truly is an amazing collection, and despite a little browning around the edges and wear along the left edge from being bound in an antique folio, they are still in very nice shape. Overstreet values the English language reprints from 1888 at between $50-160 each, but I'm listing these earlier French originals at a very affordable price, with no reserve - the minimum bid is an astounding bargain, I hope they all get good homes! They are blank on the back.
Imagerie D'Epinal No 1161 - COMPERE LE LOUP. This is a really nice one; lots of action as the wolf apparently tricks lots of livestock into being dinner before getting caught.
