Windmaker Fan, Phil Rich Mfg Co, Inc, Houston, TX. Model # U1200. This antique Windmaker still works! From looking at pictures of restored Windmakers, I believe one this one is a small floor model fan that is missing the floor stand. When I bought it, the previous owner had it hanging in his garage by the handle. He had also spliced the cord to make it longer. So, while the fan does work, it eventually trips a breaker! I think even a new splice job would be better than what’s on here. I saw a larger version (restored, of course) that sold for $229! Apparently working Phil Rich Windmaker fans are hard to come by! The back motor of the fan has a push button start and a high and low speed. Also has 4 holes with a note that says "Oil every 6 months with S.A.E 20". The back of the motor also says "Volt 116, .45 Amp, Cycle 80". Let me be clear about the condition of this fan—it looks great (to me) for display. But if you want to run it regularly, you will need to replace the cord. The cage and cage welds are intact. But the chrome finish has started to deteriorate and I see a few surface rust spots. The Windmaker center symbol has pretty good paint with minimal scratches. But there is a good lengthwise indention/scratch diagonal over "Windmaker". The motor housing is solid and intact, but also has some surface rust. The handle is still very securely attached—no wobble there. Blades are one of the better parts of the fan. Whatever finish they put on the blades is starting to oxidize but this can be easily fixed with sandpaper. Overall fan measures 14" in diameter and 6" deep (cage). Four blades. The blades are almost 5" long. So, overall, this fan is a great candidate for refurbishing or displaying just the way it is. Check out my feedback!
