African short sword or large knife from the Congo. Made of iron in the 1800s it was used occasionally as a form of currency. One image shows the wavy construction of the metal and is a form of verifying authenticity. There is also an image of the top of the blade. These are desirable as "Africana" collectibles and as primitive currency as sell as a weapons collectible. It is about 21 inches long including the handle.
Check back during the auction in case new information becomes available. Sometimes an alert bidder will ask a question or just have some useful information to add so look in the questions section right through the end of the auction ... you never know!
A word about postage and shipping in general: We will always try and be fair on postage. Please remind me when you item arrives if the postage is more than two or three dollars too high. I do have to pay for packing materials and my kind friend and helper who does most of my packing ... she can't work for free; hope you understand.
Shipping times: We generally ship twice each week early, usually Tuesday or Wednesday and again later such as Thursday or Friday. If you pay on Thursday and we have gotten the shipment already off then it may seem to take too long if our next shipment is Wednesday.
