This beautiful basket is made by decendants of the Caribbean's earliest inhabitants, The Arawaks and Caribs. Treasured by collectors, the exquisite work of these Amerindian craftsmen is extremely rare. The palm leaves, reeds and vines used by the weavers, undergo weeks of careful preparation before they are transformed into useful and highly decorative baskets. This basket measures 3" in diameter and 3" high. Purchased in St. John - Imported from St. Thomas. Basket is in excellent condition with original tag. Basket has its own lid.
