This Better Homes and Gardens Decorating Book shows a copyright of 1956, 1961, 1968, which was probably one revision too many. It’s in the same big five-ring binder format as the Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book, and is in excellent condition.
WARNING: The decor pictured in this book is hilariously hideous. I have uploaded a couple example pictures, but view them at your own risk. If you are susceptible to incredibly bad taste, or are allergic to five-inch shag rugs, I can’t answer for the consequences.
To be fair, there is some useful information contained in The Better Homes and Gardens Decorating Book. There is a glossary of decorating terms, and a comparison of flooring materials, and of fabrics. I am guessing that at one time there were pages of little furniture templates, but they aren’t there now.
You probably won’t be buying this for any practical reason, anyway, but rather for the ‘yikes!” factor. Come to think of it, it would make a great Halloween gift.
