Esteban crafted this subtle little bird out of light kingman turquoise. This peaceful and majestic bird is looking very peaceful. The light color of the fetish has an unexplainable calming effect. The cardinal is perfect in shape as you will find. Handmade sculpture is signed by Artist Dimensions In Inches Width: 1 and 5/8" x 1" Height: 1 and 1/4" About Seller: I'm Albert Cheama. Born and raised in Zuni, NM. I started selling fetishes to support myself through college at Univ. of Michigan in Ann Arbor. There are a few of us in the Cheama household that were not blessed in the field of making art, believe me I tried. Growing up in an creative family full of silversmiths and carvers, workmanship is highly valued. I know good Jewelry and Fetishes when I see it. There are lots very good artists in this small community and I am very fortunate to have gotten to know many of them quite well. Thank you for your interest and support. Zuni fetishes are hand-carved pieces of natural materials, depicting animals or other symbols of the Zuni connection to nature and all that is. These fine carvings have many uses: for trade, religious ceremonial use, luck in hunting, ensuring rain, enhancing fertility and propagation, diagnosing and curing disease. Check out my other items!
