Vintage Postcards to commemorate the Visit of the American Fleet in October of 1908.
Two of the postcards were issued by the Department of Communication (the one with the eagle over the picture of the guy with the flags in the background and once with the picture of the ship held in the anchor). Printed by the Tokyo Printing Company and they have stamps on the back, but never mailed.
The other two postcards are also Japanese postcards, but nothing on them indicate that they were printed specifically for commemoration of the Visit of the Fleet, but they were located in the same album as the other two cards, so I'm making an assumption that they were issued at the same time, just not as official cards. There are two of the card with the woman holding the American Flag.
As with most older cards, there is wear on the edges and the corners. None of these cards was mailed/postmarked or have writing on the backs of them. I have put the cards in protective plastic sleeves.
I will combine shipping on multiple auctions. I will take the highest quoted shipping price and add a small fee to cover the cost of the plastic sleeves. For this auction the cost of the sleeves is 35 cents.
