After selling my jewelry designs in galleries over the last 7 years, I've decided it's time to sell some of my component beads.
This auction is for 1 gorgeous, ornately detailed, Yoruba brass bead. It was handmade with the lost wax process and has a gold wash that has worn in places due to decades of use. A bead of this nature must have been worn with great pride by someone of stature! It has a beautiful patina from wear and age with a couple of holes on one side. The pictures are of each side. Dating from the early 1900's.
Measures 32 mm L x 23 mm narrowing to 17 - 19 mm at each end. The holes are 4 mm. Total weight is 18.3 gms.
