The Mother Road
Route 66
Postcard
Back of card reads:
Route 66, named as such in 1926, used to be the closest thing the country had to a national highway. Starting at Chicago's Lake Michigan and ending at the Pacific surf in California, its 2,400 miles provided "the road to flight" for refugees from economic hardship and the agricultural Dust Bowl.
