14 Karat Gold. Its pretty worn, looks like it had a hard life. Stone is missing, around stone setting reads "United States Army" eagle insigna on the sides topped with the E Pluribus Unum banner. Ring engravement looks like it's a size 10 - this is what it reads: 10-14K-RGP. The ring is a bit mis-shapen.
Actually a comment/question raised a point I hadnt noticed.. took a much closer look, it does appear to be gold plated brass. the band of the ring is much darker color when looked at under the right lighting conditions. entirely possible plating is mostly worn away.
