Victorian Advertising Cards
CAMPBELL CO
484 Broad St., Newark
Tobacco
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SCHREIBER CO. Pharmacists
Lake St., Chicago
The card which is shaped like a palette, (CAMPBELL CO.) tobacco etc. is stuck to the card with the birds and bird nest on it (Compliments of the Season SCHREIBER CO. Pharmacists). The palette card has a tear through it where the thumb hole is shown. The bird card has chips off the edge and a sizeable peel on the right side near the bottom. These cards were made around 1875--1890.
The listing picture shows the front side of the two cards at the top and the backs of the cards at the bottom. The large rectangular card has a song on the back which is adapted from the Major General's Song in the "Pirates." There is a lot of information on the two cards but impossible to read all of either one due to the two being stuck together.
