All 7 pieces of Earthenware Pottery have a Cartoon featured on them by Jacques Faizant 1918-2006, The Famous French Political Cartoonist whose work was a fixture in the Newspaper "Le Figaro" for more than 4 decades. These are of his Famous two "Spindly Legged Old Ladies", He used these as symbols of the Bourgeoisie to air his own feelings of ironic surprise at changes in French Society. Rare to find a fully boxed set in this condition, The Large Plate measures 28 cm (11 in) in Diameter the 6 side plates measure 20 cm (8 in) in Diameter. Each plate has some crazing consistent with its age, there are no cracks or chips, only what appear to be small manufacturers faults in the glaze around the edges in a couple of places. The "Hat" Box Stands 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) high is 13.5 in (35 cm) long 11.5 in (29 cm) wide. SEE BELOW FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING QUOTES.
