This is an original old cast iron hand to mouth action Jolly Boy money box. It used to sit in my primary school when the Nuns thought that families could donate a penny for the poor children. I remember the trill of being able to pull the lever down to see the coin disappear. My Father bought it from the school when it became politically incorrect to have such a thing. It was at least 5 years before Australia converted to decimal currency (1966) that I was in that class. As you can see from the photos that the paint is worn and the plug from base is missing. Hand action still works and his eyes roll up.It does have something embossed on base but I cannot make it out, same as on the back, other than the obvious wording there is 'PAT.NAR and then 4 ? numbers, can't read them. I have always loved this old fella but it is time he found a new home. There are a couple of old coins that you are welcome to have. Please check photos and ask questions before buying as I can not offer refund for change of mind. I am happy to combine postage on multiple winnings. Good luck and thanks for looking, have a great day!
