An original World War One letter which includes the envelope. The envelope has the send to address of Toledo, Iowa. It is dated, Madison Wis June 5, 1918. The letter reads:
Dearest Alice
I received your dandy letter a little while ago and was sure glad to get it....I have not seen Art since before we were quarantined. He is going back to Esterville about the 17th.....Well I have gotten over the third inocculation alright my arm is about alright.....Leutenant Curran our company commander has been in the hospital since the day before we went into quarantine and he just got out this morning.........Chrissie
The letter is in very good condition.
