An original World War One letter which includes the envelope. The envelope has the send to address of Camp Jackson Columbia South Carolina. It is dated, Estherville, IA July 4 1918. The letter reads:
Dear Brother Chirs
Well how are you it is a long time since I wrote you....I sold some of the corn....I still have about 85 pigs and they are doing fine......They reclassed some of the boys here I guess all over it seems like they need more 1st class men about the next call they will be about all gone. Well it is getting dark and I have no light.....your Brother John
The letter is in very good condition.
