An original World War One letter which includes the envelope. The envelope has the send to address of Warehouse Point, Connecticut. It is dated Oct. 13, 1918. The letter reads:
Dear Mother:
Quite a lot has happened lately. I was bugler of the guard last Sunday....The reason for this was that we are short of buglers 2 or 3 sick and 6 on special duty. We have some cases of influenza here but nothing serious. They have closed all places around camp and in town where people would have a chance to congregate such as dance halls......They have quite a bunch of mules horses...in the 209th train......We get gas drill tomorrow..........Hayden
The letter is in very good condition.
