An original World War One letter which includes the envelope. The envelope has the send to address of Warehouse Point, Connecticut. It is dated Sept 3, 1918 Camp Sheridan. The letter reads:
My Dear Mother
We have been moved again to Camp Sheridan Ala. We packed our barrack bags Sat and they were loaded into the baggage car. We cleaned up our barracks in the morning and stood inspection with our packs......It wasn't very comfortable sleeping on the train for all we had was day coaches but we got some rest. We left the train for camp at 6:30. It is only a few minutes walk.....They issued rifles last night after mess so we were busy cleaning them. This morning they wanted those that had experience with a horn to go to the buglers school so I put in my name. If I practice with a bugle and get a good lip I will get a chance to play in the Regimental Band.........Hayden
The letter is in very good condition.
